Ballarat motorists are advised of the below road closures from Thursday 16 January – Saturday 18 January due to filming for the movie ‘Road to Boston’. Residents are advised to observe electronic signs and detours.
Members of the public are welcome to view the filming and are encouraged to support traders who will operate as normal.
Thursday 16 January
Lydiard Street between Dana Street and Ararat Street closed from 6am to 1pm
Lydiard Street between Sturt and Ararat Streets, 1.00pm to 8.45pm
Friday 17 January
Camp Street, between Sturt and Field Streets, 2pm to 6pm.
Parking will be reserved all day in Camp Street. Local access will remain until 2pm.
Saturday 18 January
Humffray Street South & Main Road Bakery Hill, 6.15am to 3pm
Porter Lane, at rear of shops on Main Road, including Humffray Street intersection 3pm-6pm
Set in the 1940s, ‘Road to Boston’ is the true story of athlete Suh Yun-bok, the first Korean to win an international sporting event (the Boston Marathon) following the country’s independence from Japanese colonialism in 1945.
A number of Ballarat residents have been cast as ‘extras’ in the movie.
