Sections of Strand Avenue and North Head Road in New Brighton are set to receive a renewal, with work scheduled to begin next week (week commencing 27 November 2023), dependent on weather conditions.
“We know many people have been patiently waiting for these roads to be fixed and we are happy to announce that we are starting work on the roads shortly. Council will be stabilising the road and laying new asphalt to extend the road life,” said Phil Holloway, Byron Shire Council’s Director of Infrastructure Services.
“Work is expected to be completed by mid December, weather permitting. Residents will still be able to access their properties during this time, but they should expect some delays and construction noise. We thank residents for their patience while the work is being done,” he said.
Residents are asked not to park on the street while work takes place from 7am until 5pm Monday to Friday and are advised to keep an eye on VMS in the area for the exact dates of work. Traffic controllers will be in place.
These works are funded by NSW Government.
