The driver of a fully-laden road train has been charged with drink-driving after being stopped for a random breath test in Moree overnight.
Traffic and Highway Patrol officers stopped the heavy vehicle in Gwydir Street about 8.30pm (Thursday 6 August 2020), and subjected the driver to a roadside breath test, which proved positive.
The driver, a 52-year-old man, was arrested and taken to Moree Police station where he returned an alleged breath-analysis reading of 0.116.
The man has been charged with Mid-Range PCA and his licence immediately suspended.
Police will allege the man was driving the road train, laden with hay, from Victoria to North Star, 100km north-east of Moree.
The man, from Goondiwindi in Queensland, has been issued with a Future Court Attendance Notice to appear in Moree Local Court on Monday 21 September 2020.
