Robbery and Serious Crime Squad detectives under Strike Force Fairbank have charged a man after multiple fast-food restaurants were robbed across Sydney.
In August 2024, detectives attached to State Crime Command’s Robbery and Serious Crime Squad established Strike Force Fairbanks to investigate the robbery of multiple fast-food burger and pizza restaurants across Western Sydney.
Strike Force detectives have been told, during the incidents, an unknown man wearing dark clothing allegedly threatened staff and demanded cash before leaving.
The man allegedly targeted restaurants in Bass Hill, Punchbowl, Kellyville, Campsie, Greenacre, Merrylands, Chester Hill, Belmore and Belfield between Wednesday 14 August 2024 and Friday 30 August 2024.
As result of extensive investigations into the incidents, strike force detectives – with assistance from Raptor Squad – executed a search warrant at a Greenacre home about 6.20am on Friday (13 September 2024).
During a search of the home, detectives located and seized a scooter and clothing believed to have been used in the offence.
A 27-year-old man was arrested during the search and taken to Bankstown Police Station where he was charged with eight counts of robbery and break and enter dwelling house with intent steal.
The man was refused bail and appeared before Bankstown Local Court the same day.
