Council and the Robinvale Leisure Centre are pleased to announce the re-opening of health club facilities at the centre from today (28 October).
Additionally, the Robinvale outdoor pool will open this Saturday, 31 October.
Swan Hill Rural City Council Director Development and Planning Heather Green said Council was delighted that the community would once again have access to the leisure centre facility and outdoor pool.
“It has been challenging for our community in Robinvale to have the leisure centre facility shut after we enjoyed a brief re-opening in June,” Ms Green said.
“However, it is fantastic that we are once again able to open the facility in line with COVID-19 government and industry guidelines.
“Additionally, it’s great that the outdoor pool is opening early for the 2020/21 season,” Ms Green added.
“The pool has been equipped with new solar heating, which means it is able open to the public earlier than usual.”
Recreational and lap swimming will be available from 31 October with a maximum of 50 per pool or one person per four square metres.
As per current COVID-19 restrictions, limited numbers will be allowed in the Robinvale Leisure Centre and new operating hours will be in place.
Additionally, the following changes will be in place at the centre to ensure the safety and wellbeing of guests and staff members:
- Showers and changerooms are available but guests are encouraged to shower and change at home
- Some gym equipment may be unavailable to allow for social distancing rules
- Water bubblers are not available – guests are encouraged to bring a full water bottle
- Bookings are essential and should be made in advance
- A maximum of 10 people will be permitted per gym space, as per government guidelines
- In the interest of public safety, walk-ins will not be available
- Face masks are recommended as per government guidelines
During the extended lockdown period, the team at the Robinvale Leisure Centre took strict actions to ensure a high standard of environmental cleanliness upon re-opening. All staff have undergone COVID-19 Safety Training.
“The Robinvale Leisure Centre has been working closely with Council to re-open the centre and outdoor pool,” Ms Green added.
“We are pleased to be able to once again support our local community in meeting their health and fitness goals.
“The Robinvale Leisure Centre and outdoor pool has been an important part of the region and provides many in our community with much-needed support and access.”
The Robinvale Leisure Centre will continue to monitor government and industry guidelines to ensure that the facility remains safe for staff and guests over the coming months.
