Expressions of interest will soon be called for the development and operation of a new private marina at Rockingham.
The new marina will be at the intersection of Wanliss Street and Rockingham Beach Road and will be an important coastal landmark for Rockingham and provide a community asset for locals and visitors to enjoy.
Rockingham has long been identified as a prime site for a future marina given the demand for vessel accommodation in the area and its desirable coastal lifestyle.
The growing population of Perth and our southern suburbs makes Rockingham the ideal site for a new marina.
The Department of Transport (DoT) is currently preparing documentation outlining the development opportunity and is asking for interested parties to register their interest to receive further details of the Expression of Interest (EOI) process.

As stated by Minister Assisting the Transport Minister David Michael:
“The Cook Government is committed to a marina in Rockingham for the community and has requested DoT to identify a new proponent through an expression of interest process in 2025.
“It has been agreed that, where relevant and applicable, any work already undertaken will be built upon to expedite the development of the proposed marina.
“This is a significant development opportunity in a fast growing part of the metropolitan area that will deliver crucial coastal infrastructure with economic and social benefits for the State and community.”
As stated by Rockingham MLA Magenta Marshall:
“I’m thrilled to be part of a Government that is putting early plans in place for a new private marina in Rockingham.
“This development will be an asset to boat owners as well as the wider local community and will attract new visitors to our stunning city.
“Rockingham is home to the best beaches in WA and this marina will maximise our tourism potential while creating local jobs.”
