The Ross River Dam spillway gates closed on Friday afternoon when the dam level reached 100 per cent.
Townsville Water and Waste Committee Chair Cr Russ Cook said Council crews would monitor the inflows into the dam and would advise the community if any further releases were necessary.
“The spillway gates closed late on Friday afternoon and Council will continue to closely monitor all the inflows into the dam to determine whether the spillway gates need to re-open in the future,” Cr Cook said.
“If there is any need to re-open the spillway gates Council will notify the community, however, the volume of any future release from the dam should be low.”
