RSPCA Victoria celebrates 1,708 volunteers during ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ Volunteer Week

is celebrating 1,708 incredible volunteers during ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ Volunteer Week (15-21 May 2023).

To say thank you for the critical work volunteers do at RSPCA Victoria celebratory lunches, morning teas and dinners will be held across our state-based network.

Nadine Hutchins, RSPCA Victoria’s , said the animal charity relies on a generous and dedicated volunteer workforce.

“We are so grateful to our fantastic volunteers who fill so many critical functions across RSPCA Victoria helping us prevent cruelty to all animals,” Ms Hutchins said.

“People from all walks of life choose to share their time with us across a variety of roles including in administration, grounds and maintenance, in our , and of course, working directly with the animals in our care.”

RSPCA Victoria CEO Dr Liz Walker agrees, praising the contributions from the organisation’s volunteers.

“Our vollies are the backbone of the work we do at RSPCA Victoria,” Dr Liz Walker said.

“As a non-profit charity, it’s thanks to their dedication, compassion, and patience we’ve been able to remain operational and provide high-quality care and support to the animals in our care for over 150 years.

“It’s almost impossible to grasp the importance of our volunteers to our mission to prevent cruelty to all animals, and I want to sincerely thank every past and present volunteer for the work they do with us.”

RSPCA Victoria is currently recruiting volunteers to help run its network of op shops including the newest store in Bayswater.
