SALVOS’ MONEYCARE ADVICE NOW IN FREE DIGITAL BOOK – Start your New Year getting finances

The Salvation Army

Start your New Year getting finances in control and losing money stress.

Over the 30-plus years The Salvation Army’s Moneycare service has been delivering financial counselling to Australians, it has seen the impact financial stress can have on emotional and physical health – regardless of whether clients earn a lot or a little.

The Salvo’s Kristen Hartnett has seen the same issues affecting those seeking assistance in her 20 years as part of the Moneycare team and decided to write the book, You’re the Boss, to share stories, lessons and wisdoms so that our financial situation doesn’t stop us from living a great life.

“I have heard so many people tell me they are hopeless with money when they actually aren’t,” Hartnett says. “They are not alone in facing debt pressures and finding it difficult to navigate their finances, but there are tricks and ways to get on top of debt that many are unaware of, which is why I wrote the book.”

Hartnett says its remarkable to see the difference in people when they get their finances in order. For example, 32 per cent of clients approaching Moneycare are suffering mental illness as a result of their situation, a figure reduced to 13 per cent when their issues are resolved.

“It is wonderful to see the results on clients not only getting on top of their financial problems, but their health issues too.”
