Saving our Species Winter newsletter

Welcome to the winter edition of the Saving our Species (SoS) newsletter.

Smoky Mouse (Pseudomys fumeus), critically endangered

More than 80% of Australia’s mammals and over 90% of our plants are found only here. Unfortunately, the future of many of these plants and animals is uncertain.

This is why the NSW Government is investing $100 million over five years in the SoS program – to secure the future of threatened plants and animals.

We know the task of securing the future of NSW threatened species is an ambitious one – and we recognise that we cannot do it alone.

As well as highlighting some of the important conservation work SoS is doing, this newsletter also talks about ! And how we can work together to save more species.

³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ is commemorated across the country on 7 September to raise awareness of plants and animals at risk of extinction. It is an opportunity to highlight how important it is to conserve our native plants and animals. We have a guide to hosting a Threatened Species Day event. If you would like to add an event to our Threatened Species Day calendar just send through the details to .
