As stated by Rick Bourne of the Southern District Investigation Support Unit
Southern Police are urging members of the public to be cautious of mobile scammers who use New Zealand numbers to get to users.
Police are currently looking into two reports and there are others where scammers use NZ numbers to trick victims into their scam. In this instance through a number advertised on a caravan sale.
