  • Industry’s lightest single-phase 2U UPS launches into the Australian market
  • The APC Smart-UPS Ultra 2.2kW, 3kW and 5kW UPS boasts increased power density through the utilisation of next generation semiconductor, and lithium-ion technology

Schneider Electric, a leader in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, has launched a new 1Ph UPS offering into the Australian market.

The APC Smart-UPS Ultra 2.2kW, 3kW and 5kW UPS is compact in design and is the industry’s lightest single-phase UPS. Despite its size, the offering boasts a 1.5x increased power density due to the utilisation of next generation semiconductor, and lithium-ion technology while maximising the value of IT space. For extended runtime, customers have the option to add up to 10 battery packs.

“With more IT professionals managing hybrid environments, the demand for solutions that offer more power and flexibility is increasing. This product is a testament to Schneider Electric’s commitment to innovation as it addresses the IT infrastructure challenges of resiliency, security, and sustainability,” says Joe Craparotta, Vice President of IT Business at Schneider Electric.

APC’s Smart-UPS Ultra has been designed for local edge environments and micro data centres to provide consistent and reliable connectivity. Alongside its light and compact size, which allows for effortless installation, the offering is also equipped with a user-friendly auto-rotating LCD display.

Being understaffed or lacking onsite staff can also make management, maintenance, and servicing challenging, especially if assets are highly distributed and geographically dispersed. To eliminate this, the offering has been designed to be EcoStruxure IT ready, featuring cloud-based monitoring to deliver data-driven recommendations and optimise performance, while enabling visibility across multiple UPS devices.

“The APC Smart-UPS Ultra Lithium-ion battery lasts up to three times longer than a traditional valve regulated lead acid (VRLA) powered UPS and will not need to be replaced under normal operating conditions during the expected battery life of 8-10 years. This will not only result in a lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) but this vastly reduced footprint supports the sustainability priority of any organisation” added Craparotta.

The new product has been launched as part of Schneider Electric’s Smart-UPS Ultra range. More offerings including the Smart-UPS Ultra 2.2kW, 3kW, 8kW, 10kW, and a Smart-UPS Modular Ultra 5-20kVA will also be added to the suite of products later this year.

The APC Smart-UPS Ultra UPS is available across Australia now. F
