Looking for family friendly activities these summer holidays? The NSW ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is offering a range of tours and activities during January at Minnamurra Rainforest Centre, Barren Grounds Nature Reserve and Budderoo ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ Park.
NPWS Education Coordinator, Mel Le Cerf, said all the activities are kid-friendly, fun and most importantly get kids out to explore nature.
“With weekly activities to choose from, the summer holiday program is a great way to discover local national parks and connect with nature,” said Ms Le Cerf.
“The activities are designed to engage children aged 4 to 14 years and build their appreciation for the natural world around them.
“In particular, our ever-popular Junior Ranger activities are back and are a great way to learn about the fascinating plants and animals of Barren Grounds Nature Reserve.
“As a Junior Ranger, the kids will get a guided walk through the Reserve and go on a hunt to find evidence of the creatures that call this area home.
“Creative kids will love the Minnamurra sun prints in the forest activity where we’ll use interesting objects like feathers, leaves and rocks to link art with science to create amazing effects.
“Waterbug Wonders at Carrington Falls will take kids on an adventure to the Kangaroo River where the kids will find bugs, see what they look like up close and learn about the bug life cycle.
“We are all looking forward to running these activities and tours again this summer and encourage people to book early to avoid disappointment,” Ms Le Cerf said.
NPWS’ school holiday program will run from the 5 to 24 January 2022 inclusive.
Bookings are essential and fees apply.
