At its meeting on Tuesday 23 July, Council adopted the David MacFarlan Master Plan. The Plan has been prepared in collaboration with the reserve’s many user groups, as well as community members, and outlines a 20-year vision for the reserve.
Highlights from the Plan include:
- new competition netball courts
- new cricket nets
- upgraded multi-use courts
- new playground
- improving facilities around the skate park including increased street skate area, shelter, BBQs and lighting
- revitalising the wetlands and building a new boardwalk
- improving existing paths by maintaining unsealed walkways in keeping with the character of the area
- safer access for vehicles and pedestrians with a new sport precinct entry, additional and improved car parks.
