Search to resume for swimmer missing in Murrumbidgee River

A search will resume in the state’s south today for a man missing in the Murrumbidgee River.

Just after 2pm on Sunday (26 January 2025), a man was reportedly seen to fall from a recreational floating device that was being towed behind a boat on the Murrumbidgee River at Darlington Point.

When he failed to resurface and could not be located, emergency services were notified.

Officers attached to Murrumbidgee Police District responded, with assistance from NSW Ambulance, State Emergency Service (SES) and Volunteer Rescue Association (VRA) who commenced a search for the missing 37-year-old man.

The search was later suspended and recommenced at 7.30am yesterday (Monday 27 January 2025) with NSW Police divers attending.

The man has not been located and the search will resume at 7.30am today (Tuesday 28 January 2025), again involving NSW Police, SES and VRA.
