Around 9am on Tuesday 2 April 2019, Perth Detectives executed a search warrant at a second-hand jewellery
store in an arcade off Hay Street Perth.
During the search warrant, a number of rings, necklaces, bracelets as well as pendants, earrings, watches and
charms were seized by police. Around 900 items of jewellery were located which police believe to be stolen.
The jewellery items amount to more than $200,000 worth. An extendable baton was also located at the
premises.
A subsequent search of a residential address in Thornlie, that is linked to the business, uncovered further
jewellery items as well as paperwork related to the business.
As a result of the two searches a 36-year-old man from Thornlie has been charged with the following offences:
· Laundering Property/Money from Proceeds of Major Offence
· Possessed a Prohibited Weapon
He is due to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court on Thursday 2 May 2019.
The second-hand dealer licence held by the man, has since been cancelled. The investigation is ongoing with
further inquiries being made into the jewellery items seized. Booklets have been prepared with images of the

The public are being asked to assist investigators by viewing the images of the jewellery items and if items are
identified as possibly being theirs, they are asked to follow the following steps:
· Note down the category of the item.
· Note down the reference number.
· Attach any supporting documents (Police report number/photos of the item/receipts etc.)
