Second man arrested over fantasy seizure, South Australia

A second man has been arrested in relation to the seizure of 800 litres of fantasy earlier this week.

On Saturday 27 November, detectives from Serious and Organised Crime Branch, Crime Service, Western District CIB and Dog Operations Unit attended a Largs Bay address and arrested a 54-year-old Fulham Gardens man.

He was charged with attempt trafficking in a large commercial quantity of a controlled drug and bailed to appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on 23 December.

SAPOL were notified by Australian Border Force (ABF) and the Department of ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ Affairs (DHA) after 800 litres of 1,4-Butanediol (known as fantasy) arrived in Sydney from overseas, destined for South Australia.

In a joint operation between ABF, DHA, Australian Federal Police, New South Wales Police and SAPOL, the fantasy, equating 800, 000 doses and with a street value of $5.6 million, was intercepted and seized.

This seizure represents the largest seizure of Fantasy ever seized in South Australia.

At 10am on Thursday 2 December, as a result of further investigations, detectives from Serious and Organised Crime Branch arrested a 28-year-old man from Torrensville in relation to the seizure of 800 litres of 1,4-Butanediol on Saturday 27 November.

The man was charged with attempt trafficking in a large commercial quantity of a controlled drug. He was refused bail and is due to appear in Adelaide Magistrates Court on Friday 3 December.
