A second man has been charged following an investigation into an alleged assault in Sydney’s Inner West last September.
Following an incident at Stanmore on Saturday 21 September 2024 involving a 55-year-old off-duty police officer, the Professional Standards Command established Strike Force Swanage to investigate an alleged assault.
Following inquiries, the superintendent – attached to the Central Metropolitan Region – was issued a court attendance notice for three counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and will appear at the Downing Centre Local Court on Thursday 5 December 2024.
Police will allege in court that the man assaulted two males, aged 18 and 21.
On Thursday 21 November 2024, following inquiries, a second man – aged 18 – was given a court attendance to appear before the Downing Centre Local Court on Thursday 16 January 2025, charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
