A man has been charged following a shooting in the State’s Riverina.
Emergency services responded to reports that a man had been shot at a home on Carrathool Street, Griffith about 11.15pm on Saturday (16 March 2024).
Officers attached to Murrumbidgee Police District were told that three men forced entry into the premises, before the man was allegedly shot in the left leg.
The 44-year-old male presented to Griffith Base Hospital with leg injuries, before being transferred to Wagga Wagga Base Hospital.
A crime scene was established, and detectives commenced an investigation.
About 3.45pm yesterday (Tuesday 19 March 2024), officers attached to Murrumbidgee Police District attended a home in Park Street Leeton.
They arrested a 31-year-old man at the scene.
He was transported to Griffith Police Station and charged with discharge firearm etc intend cause grievous bodily harm, attempt to discharge firearm etc with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and special aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence-inflict grievous bodily harm.
He was refused bail, to appear at Griffith Local Court today (Wednesday 20 March 2024) he will reappear in the same court on (Thursday 23 May 2024).
A man, also aged 31, was arrested at Griffith Police Station, about 8pm on (Sunday 17 March 2024).
He was charged with discharge firearm intent cause grievous bodily harm, attempt to discharge firearm with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and special aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence – inflict grievous bodily harm.
He was refused bail to appear in Griffith Local Court today (Wednesday 20 March 2024) and will reappear in the same court on (Thursday 23 May 2024).
