Council is now inviting local businesses, community groups and organisations to submit an Expression of Interest to have their event or activity included for promotion in Baw Baw’s local Victorian Senior’s Festival booklet which will be released this October.
The Victorian Senior’s Festival is an annual, State-wide celebration that focuses on providing free and low-cost events and activities designed to bring seniors together to enjoy themselves, learn new skills and make new friends.
In previous years, events and activities in Baw Baw have included:
- Group fitness and aquatic classes for all abilities,
- Singing and dancing activities,
- Bushwalking,
- Friendly competitions of golf, croquet and table tennis,
- Musical concerts,
- Gardening and bonsai,
- Movie screenings and more.
“Being active and social is so important to mental and physical wellbeing, especially as we get older,” says Mayor of Baw Baw Shire Cr Annemarie McCabe. “The local Victorian Senior’s Festival is all about promoting fun ways for seniors to connect and stay active. If your business, organisation or community group has an activity or event that fits the bill, we would love to hear from you and help you promote it as part of our local program.”
Eligible listings may include one-off events, specials or ongoing programs available to people over the age of 60.
Expressions of Interest can be submitted now through to Friday 28 July using the application form found here: .
