Campaspe Shire Council has allocated $9,730 in funding to ten community groups to assist with the delivery of projects and events via the Seniors Grant Program.
General Manager Community, Keith Oberin said the program provides donations of up to $1,000 to incorporated organisations within the shire to deliver programs or events aimed at increasing the health, wellbeing and social connectedness of older citizens.
“More than a quarter of Campaspe’s population is over 60 years of age and Council is committed to supporting the wellbeing and connectivity of our senior citizens,” Mr Oberin said.
Approved grants include communal Christmas celebrations for those on their own, technology education, and connecting family with digital communications (podcasts, video and social media) to tell the story of our region’s history.
