Emergency services are currently on scene at a serious three vehicle crash at Currawong, approximately 22km west of Dubbo.
About 6.15pm today (Friday 2 August 2024), emergency services responded to reports of a three-vehicle crash along the Mitchel Highway, Currawong.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the drivers and sole occupants of a Mitsubishi Triton – a 77-year-old man – and a Subaru Tribeca – a 30-year-old woman – at the scene before they were taken to Dubbo Hospital.
The man is listed as being in a serious but stable condition with the woman reported as being in a stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.
The male driver – aged 34 – and only occupant of a Toyota Landcruiser was uninjured. He has been taken to Narromine Police Station where he is assisting with inquiries.
Officers from Orana Mid-Western Police District have established a crime scene are awaiting the arrival of specialist police from the Crash Investigation Unit.
The Mitchell Highway is currently closed between Manildra Street and Rawsonville Bridge Road, Currawong.
Examination of the scene is expected take a considerable amount of time and motorists are urged to avoid the area.
