ServiceWA to reform government service delivery for Western Australians

  • State Budget includes $6.9 million to deliver the Service Western Australia (ServiceWA) pilot
  • ServiceWA will pilot a ‘one-stop shop’ in Bunbury to make it easier for the community to access a range of government services
  • Better face-to-face and online service delivery
  • McGowan Government progresses election commitment to better integrate the delivery of government services
  • Premier Mark McGowan joined Bunbury MLA Don Punch today to announce ServiceWA, a new ‘one-stop shop’ that will change the way government delivers services to the community.

The State Budget includes $6.9 million to pilot the program in Bunbury, to improve face-to-face and online government service delivery for locals.

ServiceWA will provide the community with a single point of contact for 85 everyday services at a Bunbury pilot site, and via an online portal.

This reform brings together services currently delivered across five agencies, including the departments of Transport, Justice, Communities, Primary Industries and Regional Development; and the Western Australia Police Force.

ServiceWA is shifting the focus from traditional siloed government structures to put the community at the centre of how services are delivered, and allowing access to these services in a simplified way.

The pilot will trial the new service delivery model, track feedback and identify further improvements.

As stated by Premier Mark McGowan:

“ServiceWA will transform the way the community accesses government services.

“By creating a one-stop shop, it will reduce frustration, traveling time, waiting in queues, and searching for the right department.

“This is the first step to reforming face-to-face and online service delivery, to improve access to government services.

“ServiceWA supports my Government’s commitment to deliver better services to the people of Western Australia.”

As stated by Bunbury MLA Don Punch:

“Having the ServiceWA pilot site in Bunbury is a big win for our community, and I expect the new shopfront will make life much easier for families and seniors.

“Accessing government services can be confusing and, at times, frustrating, so it makes sense to have a single point of contact.

“I’m pleased to see Bunbury leading the way in this new way of delivering government services.”
