Westgate Alliance Taskforce have arrested seven teens after a police car was rammed by two stolen vehicles in Tarneit on Tuesday 20 December.
Officers received reports there was a group of teens acting suspiciously around a black Range Rover Evoke and a white Mazda sedan behaving suspiciously in Wildwood Place about 5pm.
Police checks revealed both cars to be stolen and officers attended and cordoned off the area.
Two police cars drove into Wildwood Place to arrest the offenders and upon seeing police, the driver of the stolen Mazda has allegedly rammed the police car, before reversing and driving through a bollard, into a reserve and ending up in a creek.
The offenders inside the Mazda got out and fled.
The driver of the stolen Range Rover allegedly rammed the same police car which disabled the Range Rover and all offenders got out and fled.
Police searched the area and located the seven teens, aged between 14 and 19 who were arrested and interviewed.
A 16-year-old from Wyndham Vale and 19-year-old from Truganina were charged with theft of motor vehicle and will face a children’s court where police will make a remand application.
An 18-year-old from Truganina and a 17-year-old from Tarneit were charged with theft of motor vehicle, endanger emergency services worker and others and will face a children’s court for a remand application.
A 16-year-old from Tarneit was charged with two counts of theft of motor vehicle and will face a children’s court for a remand application.
Two 14-year-olds from Truganina were charged with theft of motor vehicle and bailed to appear at a children’s court at a later date.
