01_other-yellow.png

In response to the Christmas Day storm event damage assessments are underway. So far QFES have attended over 1500 homes for damage assessments, and we expect this number to rise over the coming days.

Energex has indicated there are about 15,500 homes still without power and they will have more crews around the city today to help get the power up and running.

SES and RFS volunteers continue to attend to hundreds of jobs that are still outstanding, and we thank them for their efforts. Additional emergency services are on their way from Victoria to assist with hundreds of remaining SES assistance requests.

If you notice a tree that you believe is a risk to public safety, please call us as soon as possible on 07 5667 5974.

There is still significant storm debris across the city with the Bureau of Meteorology

The Bureau of Meteorology has forecast severe storms for the Gold Coast area from this morning. There is still significant storm debris across the Gold Coast increasing the risk of injury. We’re asking everyone to secure any loose items, take cover indoors and stay off the roads.
