Sexual Assault Charges At Oxley

Detectives from the Acacia Ridge Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) have charged a 60-year-old man with two counts of sexual assault.

Between August to December in 2022, it will be alleged the man committed offences against two adult women at an Oxley business during the course of his duties as a physiotherapist.

Following extensive investigations, detectives executed a search warrant at an address in Brisbane’s south on October 7 which has led to the man being charged.

He is expected to appear before Richland Magistrates Court on October 22.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant, Justin Suffolk of the Acacia Ridge CIB, said police are urging anyone with further information or interactions of a similar nature to come forward.

“Crimes of this nature are a reprehensible breach of trust, and police are committed to pursuing every avenue of investigation to seek justice for the victim-survivors,” he said.

“I commend all victim-survivors who come forward and help police hold perpetrator/s to account for the full extent of the harm they have inflicted.

“I want to reassure victim-survivors and you are not alone, and that there are support services available to you.

“We encourage anyone who has information to provide in relation to this investigation to come forward directly to us or anonymously to Crimestoppers.”

Investigations are ongoing and police are providing support to those involved.
