Emergency services are at the scene of a shark attack at Beachport.
About 7.45am today (Monday 2 October), police were called to the Beachport jetty after reports that a woman had been bitten on the leg by a shark.
She was helped out of the water and given first aid by bystanders until paramedics arrived.
The woman was then taken to the Mount Gambier Hospital in a serious condition.
Please avoid the Beachport area if possible.
