The Swan Hill Regional Livestock Exchange will be reopening its sheep yards to the public from Monday 22 June, subject to any announcement of changes to restrictions by the State Government.
“With the easing of restrictions from 22 June, the Swan Hill Regional Livestock Exchange is pleased to open the sheep yards to the public on this date, in time for its next sale on 25 June,” Swan Hill Rural City Council’s Director Infrastructure Svetla Petkova said.
“There will be a number of measures in place to stop the potential spread of coronavirus, including a requirement that social distancing be adhered to at all times.”
People attending the sheep yards will also be required to provide their name and phone number to staff prior to entering the yards.
“Providing your name and phone number is required for tracing purposes,” Ms Petkova added.
“Furthermore, if people are unwell or refuse to provide their details, they will not be permitted to enter the yards. This is for the safety of our community and staff at the site.”
Ms Petkova reminded the community that only people who needed to be at the sale should attend.
“If you don’t need to be at the sale, please do not attend. Keeping the number of people attending the sale to a minimum is hugely important in making sure we all keep safe.”
To ensure that the four-square-metre rule of social distancing is adhered to, cattle sales at the exchange will remain only open to essential staff within the complex.
The Swan Hill Regional Livestock Exchange will continue to monitor and review the situation in the event of further easing of restrictions.
