Shellharbour Rocks Lake

Join us as we showcase Aboriginal artists, performers and creatives

Shellharbour Rocks the Lake will see Indigenous performers, artists and creatives come together at Reddall Reserve on 18 March for a day of music, creative workshops, storytelling and more.

The event will kick off from 11am with performances on the main stage, a smoking ceremony and a series of music, art, weaving, dreamtime stories and bush tucker workshops.

Dance along to the vibrant pop tunes of award-winning headline artist Tia Gostelow, groove with west coast indie-rockers South Summit, and experience the incredible indie-acoustic sound of Dharawal singer-songwriter, Aodhan.

The line-up will also feature Yuin Djiringanj hip-hop artist Prodikal-1, Yuin singer-songwriter Matty Walker, traditional Indigenous dance, sound and workshops from South Coast’s Gumaraa and a live Indigenous cooking experience combining native ingredients and culture from professional chef and Australian icon, Mark Olive.

Set up a picnic rug and grab a bite to eat from a mouth-watering selection of food trucks including local Indigenous eats from Mirritya Mundya, 2 Smoking Barrels, Ola Lola, Steve’s Mobile Pizza, OMG Donuts, The Ice Cream Truck and more.

Shellharbour Rocks is the largest community music and arts festival series ever produced by Shellharbour City Council.

Council received funding from the Reconnecting Regional NSW Community Events Program to run the four unique Shellharbour Rocks events.

Previous events include Shellharbour Rocks the Flats, Shellharbour Rocks the Village and Shellharbour Rocks the Park ‘Unplugged’.

Shellharbour City Council CEO Mike Archer said the ‘Shellharbour Rocks’ series had been tremendously successful, with each event themed to celebrate the character of each town centre.

“It has been wonderful to see families and people of all ages enjoy these community festivals,” Mr Archer said.

“Shellharbour Rocks the Lake will see a fantastic line-up of local and Indigenous talent and I encourage everyone to join us for a day of fun, entertainment and creativity.

“Reconnecting Regional NSW is a great initiative and I am glad that the funding will allow Council to continue providing local events across our city,” Mr Archer said.
