A local Shepparton construction company has been named as the builder for the new pavilion at the state’s premier BMX venue – backed by the Allan Labor Government.
Minister for Community Sport Ros Spence today announced Shepparton-based Moretto Building Pty Ltd as the head contractor for the upgrade to the Shepperton BMX Club – providing a significant boost to local jobs and businesses.
The new two-story pavilion will give spectators better views of the BMX track and serve as a new hub for events and community gatherings for the town.
The pavilion is part of broader upgrades to the Shepparton BMX Club including enhancements to the track and starting hill, improving conditions for riders, spectators and broadcasters, along with new lighting for the adjacent velodrome.
The project is being delivered through the Labor Government’s Regional Sports Infrastructure Program in partnership with Greater Shepparton City Council.
The Regional Sports Infrastructure Program is part of the Labor Government’s record $45 billion investment since 2014 in projects and programs that matter to regional communities, including more than $2.3 billion for sport and active recreation infrastructure across Victoria.
Programs like the Regional Sports Infrastructure Program are supporting rural and regional Victoria to be an even better place to live, work and visit. The record investment is delivering what locals want and need, close to home, to attract more visitors and help local businesses grow.
