Youth Week is a yearly event that focuses on celebrating the talents of young Australians aged from 12 to 25 years. This year, Council is hosting a range of fun filled activities from 1-14 April, including a ‘Futures Fair’, open-air cinema roadshow and ‘Futures Fest’. The events are an opportunity for young people to express their ideas and views, act on issues that affect their lives, and create and enjoy activities and events.
Headline events include:
Friday 1 April – ‘Futures Fair’
Held at El Horses in the Bishops Building in Nowra, the ‘Futures Fair’ kicks-off with a Youth Pathways Expo where students can connect with services that will help them plan future career pathways. The Fair continues with a short film festival and an open-air cinema showing of the superhero film ‘Shazam’.
Wednesday 6 April – Open-Air Cinema Roadshow
Join us in Sussex Inlet for a special open-air viewing of the iconic Australian film ‘Red Dog: True Blue’. Thompsons St Reserve – Soccer Fields, from 6:00pm.
Tuesday 12 April – ‘Futures Fest’
This battle of the bands music festival celebrates the talents of students from Nowra to Moruya. Come along to hear live music from local young artists and enjoy local food trucks on the lawn of the Ulladulla Civic Centre.
Council’s is also supporting a range of creative activities at Nowra Youth Centre and the Country Women’s Association, an intergenerational morning tea at Misson Australia, and much more.
