Shoalhaven City Council is pleased to announce the opening of Shoalhaven Head’s Gumley Reserve playground, with the new playground being officially opened today by Mayor Amanda Findley.
The Gumley Reserve playground was proudly funded in conjunction with the State Government and Shoalhaven City. Mayor Amanda Findley would like to thank the NSW State Government for their support of the project and hopes the new area will see families spending longer periods outdoors.
“I would like to thank the NSW State Government for providing Council with $120 000 of funding to see this $135 000 playground completed.” Mayor Amanda Findley said.
“A key feature of this playground that sets it apart from others is the installation of an expansive twin shade sail. Providing important protection from the summer sun, therefore, encouraging users to stay and play longer during the warmer months.
“It is great to see the Shoalhaven Heads community having a wonderful precinct for families to spend the day or even a weekend at. From the new pump track, skate park, learn to ride park to our latest construction. There is something available for all members of the family.” Clr Findley said.
The Gumley Reserve playground will include a cub seat swing, accessible boat seat swing, climbing gym and multiple balance activities, providing families with a days’ worth of free play in a singular location.
