“This is a must-see event as we’ll be showcasing some of the best of the best entries to the Creative Wollongong Short Film Competition over two years. All of the tales shown on the big screen are stories told by local filmmakers of all ages so it’s a real mix of creative talent, ideas and passion,” Wollongong City Lord Mayor Councillor Gordon Bradbery AM said.

“This is a family-friendly, free event and there will be food, drinks and hire seating available for purchase on the night. You’re also welcome to bring your own picnic gear and snacks to share with your family and friends.”

Films featured will include:

  • Shorts by Beyond Empathy, Bus Stop Films and Yesterday’s Stories
  • Award winning films by emerging film makers Ollie Birt and Tom McGill (both had their films screened at Cannes).
  • Films from young local filmmakers – Beau Ritchie, Ava Dupont, Felix Williams, Mala Elith, Toby Shubank, George Adams, Alyssa Norris, Nerida Fields and Jade Woods.

There will also be a warm-up performance by local musician Jodi Phillis (The Clouds) while people set-up and wait for the sun to set.
