Do you want to be part of one of our city’s largest community celebrations?
Wollongong City Council is calling for sponsors for its annual Australia Day event which is held around Wollongong Harbour on January 26.
“Our Australia Day activities are a community event that gives us the opportunity to come together and celebrate what makes Wollongong unique. It’s family-friendly day that’s open to everyone,” Wollongong Lord Mayor Councillor Gordon Bradbery AM said.
“And while it’s over six months away, the Australia Day committee and Council staff are hard at work preparing to deliver another fantastic event. We’re looking for people, businesses or organisations who would like the opportunity to sponsor this much-loved celebration.”
Council’s Australia Day event runs across Australia Day and attracts more than 50,000 people from across the Illawarra, and further afield. It culminates with the ever-popular fireworks display over Wollongong Harbour at 9pm.
“We know Australia Day is one of the most popular events Wollongong City Council puts on and this is a great opportunity to be a part of that,” Cr Bradbery said.
