A man has been charged following a protracted incident in Sippy Downs on January 28 to 29.
Police were called to a unit on University Way around 10.45pm on January 28 to reports a man was allegedly armed with bladed weapons and making threats of violence.
The man was the sole occupant of the unit and the incident was contained to the unit.
Police, including negotiators, were in communication with the man throughout the incident until specialist police arrested the man around 10.05am on January 29.
No one was physically injured however the man was transported to hospital for assessment.
The 37-year-old Sippy Downs man has been charged with one count each of serious assault police officer whilst armed with a weapon, use a carriage service to make a threat to cause serious harm, use a carriage service to menace, harass or cause offence and wilful damage.
He is due to appear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court today, January 30.
