He receives it for his research project “Unraveling the Therapeutic Potential of SPPL2b in Alzheimer’s Disease”.

The study aims, for the first time, to assess the pathophysiological role and therapeutic potential of inhibiting SPPL2b using a novel AD mouse model. This comprehensive approach combines in vivo and in vitro methods, human samples, and computational techniques to enhance understanding of AD pathology and explore new therapeutic avenues.

The intent with the research grant – Alzheimer’s Association Research Grant (AARG) – is to support early-career development that will lay the groundwork for future research grant applications to federal or other funding entities.
