Police are seeking public sightings of two vehicles before they crashed on the Bass Highway at Sisters Creek this morning and five people were injured.
Around 9.50am emergency services were called to a crash between a green Mitsubishi sedan and a brown Kia hatch around 500 metres west of the Myalla Road intersection.
A westbound Mitsubishi driven by a 29-year-old man from Smithton crashed with an eastbound Kia driven by a 60-year-old woman from the United Kingdom.
It appears that inattention may have been a contributing factor, with the Mitsubishi crossing to the wrong side of the road.
Five people were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Traffic was managed through the scene for approximately two hours.
Police would like to speak to anyone who saw the crash or either vehicle prior to the crash. Information can be provided to Wynyard Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers anonymously on 1800 333 000.
