Police charged six people and seized quantities of drugs and chemicals yesterday following an investigation into an alleged home invasion.
Sunshine police initially arrested a 41-year-old man in the early hours of Wednesday, 22 May and determined he was subject to an outstanding arrest warrant in relation to an aggravated home invasion last month.
A warrant was subsequently executed by detectives from Brimbank Crime Investigation Unit at a residential property on Appian Drive, Albanvale later that day.
An active clandestine laboratory was located at the address along with almost 1kg of methylamphetamine.
A 49-year-old man, 38-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman were also arrested at that address.
Detectives from the Clandestine Laboratory Squad then executed further warrants yesterday at properties in Niddrie, Glenroy and Northcote.
A large number of items linked to drug manufacture were seized including pre-cursor chemicals and equipment.
A 34-year-old man and a 48-year-old woman were also arrested at the Northcote address.
The four men and the 27-year-old woman were all charged with a range of drug offences including trafficking commercial quantities of drugs of dependence and possessing articles for manufacture.
All were remanded to face faced Melbourne Magistrates Court today.
The 48-year-old woman was charged with possess drug of dependence and bailed to appear again in court on 14 October, 2019.
