She brings a diverse range of experiences in leadership, health promotion, public education, research, consulting and clinical expertise to the role. She is very much looking forward to taking on this role, “I am thrilled and honoured to be appointed as the inaugural CEO of Sleep Health Foundation. There has never been a more important time to fly the flag for the importance of sleep health, through well-coordinated partnerships and advocacy efforts. COVID-19 has disrupted the way we work and live and healthy sleep will play a pivotal role in our coping, our mental health, productivity and overall wellbeing”.

Chair of the Sleep Health Foundation, Professor Shantha Rajaratnam, welcomes the appointment, “This is a critical time for the Foundation. As our new CEO, Moira will connect the Foundation to a vibrant sleep health industry network, create new opportunities for collaboration aimed at improving the sleep health of the nation, extend our media presence and continue to be an authority on sleep health in the community. As an experienced clinician with a deep understanding of patient perspectives, Moira will lead the Foundation’s efforts in listening to the voices of people in the community with lived experience of sleep disorders.”

Moira will bring her passion for advocacy to build on the Sleep Health Foundation’s history as the leading national advocate for sleep health. The Foundation’s mission is to improve people’s lives through better sleep. The strategic priorities are advocacy, health promotion, community education, partnering with other health organisations, ensuring best practice and continuing to form research partnerships.

We welcome Moira and look forward to this new chapter for the Foundation.
