Social Cohesion Small Grants recipients bringing community together

Tasmanian Government

Innovative projects that foster social cohesion and aim to address racism have been awarded funding through the Social Cohesion Grants Program.

Minister for Community Services, Roger Jaensch, said the projects will foster intercultural understanding and integration in the community.

“Tasmania is home to thousands of migrants from all over the world who enrich our communities and bring diversity to our regions,” Minister Jaensch said.

“We are delivering $200,000 through our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania’s Future to 13 projects that will respond to and address anti-social behaviour such as racially motivated abuse, and harassment of culturally and linguistically diverse communities.

“The successful grant recipients will provide support for our multicultural community, across a broad cross-section of organisations, to support social connection and a sense of belonging for migrant and refugee people and communities in all regions of the State.”
