Soft plastics collection on pause

This means you can no longer drop off your soft plastics at local supermarkets (Coles or Woolworths), Council’s Corporate Centre or Beaumaris library.

With the recent change to our bin collection schedule we know this is going to be a challenge for some residents as we continue working on reducing our waste.

For now, soft plastics will need to go in your general waste bin.

What now?

Try to avoid soft plastics where possible. Use reusable shopping bags, put fruit and vegetables in a reusable sack and use reusable food coverings instead of cling film.

If you are a member, you can cash in your points for some great reusable products.

We will keep you informed if anything changes regarding the best way to dispose of soft plastics.

What goes in your bin

Learn what to put in which bin with our a-z waste and recycling guide that has been updated to reflect the change to soft plastics.

Soft plastics including plastic bags, chip packets and cling film must now go in your general waste bin as the REDcycle program hits pause.
