The National Museum of Australia will receive $350,000 to tour their ‘Songlines: Tracking the Seven Sisters exhibition’.
The Songlines exhibition is a unique cultural asset and the first of its kind, using Indigenous techniques of passing on knowledge in an exhibition space.
After receiving a strong response from audiences in Australia, the exhibition will tour to the Box Plymouth in the United Kingdom for the 2021 UK/Australia Season, thanks to funding from the Office for the Arts and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
Other Australian productions participating in the UK/Australia Season will showcase the best of Australian artistic innovation, integrity and collaboration including the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Australian Chamber Orchestra, Australian World Orchestra, Sydney Dance Company, Circa and the Queensland Ballet.
The UK/Australia season will build on Australia’s cultural reputation, foster international relations and grow cultural understanding. The initiative will support Australia’s major performing arts companies recover from a challenging 2020.
