Griffith City Council and Soul Property Agents have announced the Christmas Light Display winners for 2023.
With help from a pair of little elves, Griffith Mayor, Councillor Doug Curran has declared 24 Jack McWilliam Road, Hanwood as his favourite Christmas light display for this year.
“There were so many outstanding displays, but in my opinion 24 Jack McWilliam Road was a really nice display, especially for kids. The little helpers I had giving me feedback said they loved it because they could walk around it and they enjoyed the blow-up decorations,” he said.
From close to 60 online votes received for the People’s Choice Award, 22 Young Street Beelbangera came out on top. Comments included “it’s happy and bright, lots of colours and an amazing display.”
Mayor Curran said, having visited all of the registered Christmas lights as well as many that weren’t registered across Griffith and the villages, it was extremely difficult to single out just a few.
“I want to congratulate everyone involved. I witnessed so much community spirit completing this wonderful task and want to congratulate everyone that put up one light or 1,000, these lights make so many people happy, thank you and well done.”

Soul Property Agents have named Murphy Crescent as the best street in the Local Government Area for 2023.
