The Rev. Daniel McMullin, priest-director of the Cornell Catholic Community, will talk about how he chooses to be hopeful in the face of life’s difficulties at the first Soup & Hope event of the new year, Jan. 16, 2020, at noon in Sage Chapel.
The series, now in its 13th year, is open to the public and features speakers and stories of hope, with free hot soup and rolls provided by Cornell Dining. Bring a soup bowl and a friend. Reusable soup bowls will be available for sale at the event.
Soup & Hope will host six talks – offered bi-weekly – on Thursdays through March 26.
Over the past dozen years, nearly 60 speakers – encompassing Cornell staff, faculty, students, alumni and community members from the greater Ithaca area – have touched, inspired and motivated campus and community members who’ve attended the annual winter series.
Soup & Hope continues Jan. 30 with Sue Mann, MBA ’03, MMH ’04, founder of Sansu Rising, an Ithaca company that specializes in helping people recover from workplace bullying.
The Office of Spirituality and Meaning-Making (Cornell United Religious Work), Cornell Dining and Cornell Health are co-sponsors of Soup & Hope. .
