South Australia coronovirus update as at 29 October

The Department of Health has reported one new case of COVID-19 in Western Australia overnight.

The confirmed case is a male in his 20s who returned to Perth from overseas. He is in hotel quarantine.

The State’s confirmed COVID-19 case total is now 766. WA Health is monitoring 49 active cases and 708 people have recovered from the virus.

The AL Messilah and Key Integrity vessels remain berthed at Fremantle Port. Of the 25 confirmed cases on the AL Messilah – who have all been in State-run hotel quarantine, four have now been cleared, with the remainder of cases expected to clear in coming days.

The vessel quarantine period, following deep cleaning, will be finished on Thursday 5 November. All non-crew close contacts associated with the vessel, have tested negative at this stage, but remain in isolation for up to two more days.

Both confirmed cases associated with the Key Integrity have now been cleared. The remainder of the crew have tested negative and remain asymptomatic. The Key Integrity is also due to complete its vessel quarantine period on Thursday 5 November and should then be able to sail.

Yesterday 427 people presented to WA COVID-19 clinics – 415 were assessed and 414 swabbed.

There have been 486,041 COVID-19 tests performed in WA. Of those tested, 82,046 were from regional WA.
