COVID Cases in SA
There have been 1,639 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 14,528 active cases in South Australia.
Sadly, SA Health can confirm three women in their 80s, a woman in her 90s, a man in his 70s, a man in his 80s, and a man in his 90s, who tested positive for COVID-19, have passed away.
There are 206 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including 16 people in ICU, and five people requiring a ventilator. Of those hospitalised, 119 people are fully vaccinated, 37 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and 50 have an unknown vaccination status.
Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases have been readjusted.

Variants
Regular genome sampling is taken to monitor the levels of Omicron within South Australia. 97% of samples taken returned an Omicron result.

COVID testing
Yesterday, 9,407 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 5.5% decrease on the previous 24 hours. Of the tests results returned yesterday, 1,285 PCR tests were positive, while 354 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.
Vaccination update
Currently 94.7% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine and 91.6% have received their second dose. Boosters have been administered to 63.2% of eligible South Australians and 46.9% of South Australians aged 16+.
