COVID Cases in SA
There have been 2,503 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 22,054 active cases in South Australia.
Sadly, SA Health can confirm a man in his 70s who tested positive for COVID-19, has passed away.
There are 88 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including 10 people in ICU, and two people requiring a ventilator. Of those hospitalised, 51 people are fully vaccinated, 14 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and 23 have an unknown vaccination status.
Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

Variants
Regular genome sampling is taken to monitor the levels of Omicron within South Australia with 100% of the latest sampling returning an Omicron result.

COVID testing
Yesterday, 11,848 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 7.8% decrease on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 1,917 PCR tests were positive, while 586 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.
Vaccination update
Currently 94.8% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine and 92.2% have received their second dose. Boosters have been administered to 69.1% of eligible South Australians and 59% of South Australians aged 16+.
