COVID Cases in SA
There have been 3,668 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 23,533 active cases in South Australia.
Sadly, SA Health can confirm a woman in her 80s and two men in their 70s, who tested positive for COVID-19, have passed away.
There are 246 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including six people in ICU, with one person ventilated. Of those hospitalised, 128 people have received three or more vaccine doses, 58 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and 60 have an unknown vaccination status.
Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

Variants
The latest genome sampling has found 68.6% of samples analysed were BA.2, 11.7% of samples analysed were BA.4 and 12.6% of samples analysed were BA.5.

COVID testing
Yesterday, 6,206 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 0.6% decrease on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 1,600 PCR tests were positive, while 2,068 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.
Vaccination update
Currently 95.9% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine and 93.9% have received their second dose. Boosters have been administered to 73.6% of eligible South Australians and 69.2% of South Australians aged 16+.
