COVID Cases in SA
There have been 2,374 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 15,850 active cases in South Australia.
Sadly, SA Health can confirm a man in his 40s who tested positive for COVID-19, has passed away.
There are 98 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including nine people in ICU, and one person requiring a ventilator. Of those hospitalised, 60 people are fully vaccinated, 37 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and one has an unknown vaccination status.
Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

Variants
Regular genome sampling is taken to monitor the levels of Omicron within South Australia with 100% of the latest sampling returning an Omicron result.

COVID testing
Yesterday, 11,771 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 0.6% decrease on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 1,766 PCR tests were positive, while 608 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.
Vaccination update
Currently 94.9% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine and 92.3% have received their second dose. Boosters have been administered to 69.3% of eligible South Australians and 59.3% of South Australians aged 16+.
