There have been 3,715 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 32,067 active cases in South Australia.
Sadly, SA Health can confirm a woman in her 60s, a woman in her 70s, two women in their 80s, two women in their 90s and a man in his 90s, who tested positive for COVID-19, have passed away.
There are 190 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including 27 people in ICU and six requiring a ventilator. Of the people hospitalised, 108 are fully vaccinated, 18 are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and 64 have an unknown vaccination status.
Due to a reconfiguration of the data, 75 cases from yesterday have been removed to the total number of cases.

Variants
Regular genome sampling is taken to monitor the levels of Omicron within South Australia. Eighty-one per cent of samples taken returned an Omicron result.

Yesterday, 19,398 people received a PCR test in South Australia, a 5.2% increase on the previous 24 hours.
Vaccination update
Currently 93.1% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine, 89.3% have received their second dose and there were 16,055 booster shots given yesterday bringing the total booster shots to 278,535.
